The Board of Directors of the International Monetary Fund supported the allocation of $ 1.4 billion for Ukraine, reports the press service of the IMF.
The Director of the IMF Crystalina Georgiev said that “the political response of Ukrainian authorities for emergencies was impressive.” In particular, relative to the measures to preserve the availability of foreign exchange reserves and a decrease in the exchange rate uncertainty.
Also, Georgiev emphasized the fact that Ukraine fulfilled all debt obligations.
“After the war is over and it will be possible to carry out a proper assessment of damage, it is likely that additional great support will be required to support the recovery efforts,” she said.
Ukraine will receive funds as part of a quick financing tool that allows you to quickly access financial assistance to those countries that have faced the urgent needs of the balance of payments, in particular, as a result of military conflicts.
