It is noted that the four fires that flashed in Los Angeles and its environs turned into ashes a total area of more than 160 square kilometers, which corresponds to an area exceeding the size of the city of San Francisco.
As of Monday evening, a fire in Paliseids was taken under control by only 14 percent, and the fire in the result – by 33 percent. In this case, the resumption of strong winds and the likelihood of new forest fires are expected.
According to the healthcare data of the Los Angeles district, at least 24 people were killed as a result of fires and Paliseids, and 23 more are listed as missing.
Meanwhile, the elected US President Donald Trump said that the Los Angeles areas injured from forest fires look like an explosion of a “powerful bomb”.
“We are going to do something with Los Angeles,” Trump said in an interview with Newsmax news agency.
Trump, the inauguration ceremony of which will be held on Monday, January 20, did not answer the question of whether he will accept the invitation to visit the areas injured from fires.
