A decrease in the birth rate in Armenia is a consequence of a 44-day war, said the Minister of Labor and Social issues of the country Narek Mkrtchyan.
According to him, in 2023, Armenia predicts the birth of 36 thousand children, although in 2022 this indicator amounted to 37 thousand
“In the first half of 2021 (compared to the same period of 2020), the birth rate was 8-9%, but in the annual context it was only 0.4%. That is, after the war, the situation with the birth rate worsened”, he said.
