For the production and sale of industrial cannabis in Armenia, a license will be required. About this at a meeting of the National Assembly of Armenia during the discussion of the package of draft laws on introducing changes and additions to the Law “On Drugs and Psychotropic Substances” and in the adjacent laws, 26 May, Deputy Minister of Economics of the Republic of Tigran Gabrielyan, reports “Armenia News”.
Deputy Minister, in particular, reminded that on February 4, 2021, the Government approved the Plan of the Economic Response Program and Action Plan, which provide for the creation of the necessary prerequisites for the cultivation and processing of new crops capable of providing high added value. “In connection with all this, some legislative changes need to be made for the cultivation and processing of industrial cannabis,” explained Gabrielyan.
So, production, import, export and wholesale trade in industrial hemp will be allowed in Armenia. The deputy minister hurried to notice that industrial hemp is intended solely for agricultural and industrial purposes.
