In Attacks In Kursk Region Of Russian Federation, 31 People Died

In attacks in the Kursk region, more than 30 people were killed, another 143 were injured. It is reported by TASS with reference to medical services.

“On the morning of August 21, the death of 31 people was confirmed as a result of the APU attack on the Kursk region, 143 were injured of varying severity. 79 people were hospitalized, including 4 children,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

On the eve, 17 dead from the beginning of hostilities in the Kursk region and more than 140 victims were reported.

The situation in the Kursk region

The aggravation of the situation in the border regions of the Kursk region of the Russian Federation began on the morning of August 6, after the Ukrainian army began to conduct an operation in the region. Fierce battles between Russian and Ukrainian troops continue in the border areas, large -scale drones attacks are recorded in the settlements, rocket hazard signals are periodically sounded.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the battles after the APU broke into the Kursk region continued mainly in Korenevsky and Sudzhansky, partially – Belovsky and Logovsky regions of the region.

The situation in the region is recognized as an emergency of federal nature.

In addition, against the backdrop of an exacerbation of the situation in the three Russian regions, the regime of a counter -terrorist operation (KO), which touched the Belgorod, Kursk and Bryansk regions, is introduced.

In the meantime, in a number of regions the evacuation of civilians continues. On August 12, the acting governor of the Kursk region Alexei Smirnov reported to Vladimir Putin that out of 180 thousand people subject to evacuation, 121 thousand inhabitants had already left the region. In turn, the Ministry of Emergencies of the Russian Federation reported that over 121 thousand people have already been resettled from the border regions of the Kursk region.

Russian President Vladimir Putin called the APU actions in the Kursk region “another large -scale provocation”, during which “indignant shooting from different types of weapons, including missile, for civilian buildings and residential buildings, ambulance vehicles,”

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian side claims that in the Kursk region more than 90 settlements are taken under control.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine is already controlled by over 1250 square kilometers of the territory and 92 settlements in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, said President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky at a meeting with the heads of foreign diplomatic agents.

Earlier, the President of Ukraine Zelensky said that the city of Suda was transferred under the control of the Ukrainian army.

Suda gas-measuring station is located near the Russian-Ukrainian border and today remains the only route for the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine to Europe.
