Sibutramine is an anorexigenic drug, a derivative of amphetamine, enhancing a feeling of saturation. It belongs to the group of drugs for the treatment of obesity and is used for complex supporting therapy of patients with overweight. In the countries of the European Union, the use of Sibutramine was suspended in 2010, when the European agency of medicines has unveiled the results of the studies of the risks of side effects of the drug.
