In Baku, the General Meeting of the International Association “Trans-Caspian International Transport Route” took place.
In the event, which was chaired by Chairman of the Board of Kazakhstan Railways, Nurlan Saranbaeva, the Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan Rashad Nabiyev, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Javid Gurbanov, Chairman of JSC “Georgian Railway “David Peradze, General Secretary of the International Association” Trans-Caspian International Transport Route “Rakhmetolek Kudibergenov, General Director for Transportation of Public Railways of Turkey Hasan Pzyuk, Chairman of the NK Aktau International Maritime Trade Port” ABI Torikpenbaev, Chairman of CJSC “Azerbaijan Caspian Sea Shipping Company” Rauf Veliyev, General Director of the Baku International Sea Trade Port of Taleh Ziyatov and Chairman of the Port Kuryk JSC Serik Akhmetov.
At the meeting, an increase in the transit potential of the Trans-Caspian international transport route was discussed – the “median corridor”, achieving the maximum use of transport infrastructure and the impact of the opening of the Zangezur corridor on the effectiveness of the “median corridor”.
The Minister of Transport Minister and High Technologies Rashad Nabiyev noted that in order to attract transit cargo to the “Mary Corridor” in the context of competition created by neighboring transit corridors, the effectiveness of the corridor, the regularity of transportation, tariff optimization, and, most importantly, Simplification and harmonization of regulation and customs procedures for transit cargoes by countries located along the corridor.
It was noted that the most important tool for providing transparency in transit transport and equal conditions between the participants of the transport process is the digitalization of the “median corridor”.
It was emphasized that close cooperation between the International Association “Trans Caspian International Transport Route” and the Coordination Council on Transit Trucking Azerbaijan Republic – a collegial executive body responsible for tariff optimization, coordination of the activities of carriers and government agencies, provision of transparency, simplification and enhancement of transit Procedures, reducing their number and term, will help increase the competitiveness of the “median corridor”.
As a result of the meeting, the corresponding protocol was signed.
