The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Makei said he considers a real threat to the use of nuclear weapons. He stated this in New York at a high-level meeting of the UN General Assembly, BelTA reports.
“The unprecedented level of tension and distrust, entailing an increase in the risks of military confrontation, makes nuclear weapons and the threat of its use almost as real as 70 years ago,” said the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.
According to him, an agreement on non -proliferation of nuclear weapons, which is a fundamental document in the field of international security and non -proliferation, is checked for strength by numerous calls of regional and global nature.
“None of the conference member states questioned the significance of the contract, its key importance as the cornerstone of the global nuclear non -proliferation regime,” the minister said.
