The creation of the operational command in the armed forces of Belarus south provides for the formation of the corresponding group of troops. This was stated on Friday by the head of the Department of International Military Cooperation of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus Valery Revenko.
“Creation of Yuok (Southern Operational Command – approx.) is a comprehensive task of response to threats to security that arise south, providing for the creation of an appropriate group of troops,” wrote the head of the Department of the Ministry of Defense in Twitter.
Revenko explained that the western, north-west and southern operational commands are military command bodies (OVA), which ensure military security in the relevant operating directions. “OVO is provided by the management of subordinate military units and units (battalion and lower). Accordingly, the creation of Yuok implies the creation of not only the ova, but also a number of military units and units by the types of the Armed Forces and Rod of the troops,” said the representative of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.
Speaking on May 26 at a meeting in the Ministry of Defense of Belarus, President Alexander Lukashenko announced the need for an immediate creation in the armed forces of the operational command in the south.
