Operation in Ukraine can stretch to “several years” in view of the “Ukrainian resistance” and Western supply of weapons, the head of the UK Foreign Minister Liz Trails in an interview with Sky News TV channel.
“I am afraid that it will be a long way. We know that Russia has strong troops, but Ukrainians brave,” she said.
Trails noted that London will continue to supply defensive weapons to Ukraine.
According to her, Western countries “must support Ukraine”, since otherwise the Russian Federation can “seize control” over other parts of Eastern Europe, which threatens the “conflict with NATO.”
The head of the department also called on the Russian authorities to stop the operation in Ukraine: “If the Russians are seriously tuned to negotiations, then they need to withdraw troops from Ukraine.”
At the same time, the tracks expressed the view that Russian President Vladimir Putin “should be known” about the possibility of investigating the international criminal court in the Hague Action of Russia in Ukraine.
