Foreign Ministers, Intelligence Heads and National Security Advisers of Turkey, Sweden and Finland will meet in Brussels in front of the NATO summit, which will be held on July 11-12.
This was stated on Monday by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at a press conference in Vilnius.
According to the Secretary General, with the accession of Sweden, NATO security in the Baltic countries will strengthen. He added that the work on the accession of Sweden to the alliance continues.
“Yesterday I talked with the president (Turkey Recep Tayyip) Erdogan. I am also in close contact with the governments of Finland and Sweden. We agreed to hold a high -level meeting in Brussels. This meeting will take part in foreign ministers and managers intelligence services and national security advisers. The goal is to achieve progress at the end of the Sweden entry into NATO, ”Stoltenberg said.
NATO Secretary General did not report the date of the meeting.
The fourth meeting of the permanent joint mechanism created in accordance with the tripartite agreement with the participation of the delegations of Turkey, Finland, Sweden and NATO, took place on June 14 in Ankara.
