In the capital of Sweden Stockholm, the Nobel Prizes of 2024 in the field of physics, medicine, chemistry, literature and economics were presented.
At the ceremony held in the Stockholm Concert House (Konsert Huset), members of the Swedish royal family, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, ministers, Turkish ambassador to Stockholm Yyonet Kan Thezel, representatives of parties, foreign countries, laureates of premiums, as well as numerous Guests.
Awards to the nominees that were declared in September was handed by King of Sweden Karl Gustav XVI.
Turkish scientist Professor Daron Ajemoglu, Simon Johnson and James Robinson received a premium in economics; John Hopfield and Jeffrey Hinton – in physics; David Bake, Demis Hassabis and John Jumper – in chemistry; Viktor Ambros and Gary Ruvkun – in medicine; Khan Kan – in literature.
Ajemoglu, after receiving the Nobel Prize, told the Anadolu agency that one of the happiest days in his life is experiencing:
“I am especially happy with a stay with my family,” he said.
Nobel Prize winners were awarded a diploma, a Nobel medal and about 1 million 100 thousand dollars.
Nobel Peace Prize of 2024 was awarded to the Japanese organization Nihon Hidankyo for its work in the field of “Denuclearization”.
