Moldova President Maya Sandu held a meeting with the delegation of deputies of the Sejm of the Lithuanian Republic, headed by the chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Foreign Affairs, Zigimantas Pavilonis, the Presidential press service told the Moldepress Service.
The discussion concerned bilateral cooperation and the process of Moldova’s entry into the European Union. Maya Sandu thanked for the support provided by Lithuania for a long time, including in obtaining the status of a candidate country for joining the EU.
The interlocutors discussed the risks of security in the region caused by the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and its influence on the country’s economy and energy sector. The President emphasized that the Chisinau authorities support entrepreneurs and create conditions for economic growth, which is also the key to strengthening democracy in Moldova.
