Germany and France will use Tiktok and YouTube to resist Russian propaganda and drive a wedge between President Vladimir Putin and the Russian people, writes Bloomberg.
Berlin and Paris sent a document with the name “Protection of International Order in the era of systemic rivalry” to the European Union states. Inside, a plan for the fight against Russian propaganda using bloggers in Tiktok and YouTube is described. The authors argue that the European Union must engage in the distribution of “independent information” by financing Russian -speaking bloggers at different sites.
According to the plan, Europe should increase media literacy in Russia and fight fakes. For example, Europeans want to refute rumors about the strict visa policy of the European Union against Russian citizens and show that Europe is still open to them.
