In Finland they can place nuclear weapons

The bill on Finland’s membership in NATO does not exclude the placement of nuclear weapons in the country. This was reported by Iltalehti with reference to sources in the field of foreign policy and security of the country.

A document on joining the Alliance is almost ready and submitted within two weeks. The project does not impose a ban on the placement of military bases, NATO military contingent and nuclear weapons.

“It would be foolish to introduce restrictions that can actually complicate the defense of Finland,” said an unnamed official.

Nuclear weapons, according to it, can be placed, for example, on F-35 fighters. Earlier, Helsinki ordered 64 such aircraft. They will be put into service by 2030.
