Finland police said that the country could not pass in publicly burning a copy of the Qur’an like the one that was recently organized in Sweden and Denmark, the Stt news agency reported.
According to information, the Finland National Police Department emphasized that the country’s burning of sacred books is considered as a “criminal crime”.
“The police would be forced to intervene in what was happening if someone had committed such actions publicly. If such an action is planned, the police will inform its participants in advance about their reaction,” said the representative of the Pahayoki weight department.
The department recalled that actions that can provoke a violation of the interfaith world are prohibited in Finland by law.
On Friday, January 27, the leader of the Danish ultra -right party “Tough Course” Rasmus Paludan, with the permission of the Danish authorities, burned the Qur’an near the building of the Turkish Embassy in Copenhagen under the protection of numerous police officers. On January 21, the Paludan made a similar provocation at the walls of the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm. In response to the actions of the Swedish authorities, Ankara canceled the upcoming visit by the Minister of Defense of Sweden Paul Johnson to Turkey. On January 24, the leader of the Netherlands of the National Science Movement “Patriotic Europeans against the Islamization of the West” (PEGIDA) Edwin Wagensweld tore a copy of the Qur’an in The Hague.
