In January – May of this year, Turkey adopted 17,809,078 visitors, including 2,024,865 Turkish citizens and 15,784,213 foreigners. Such data are given by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey.
According to the Turkish department, the number of foreign visitors over the first five months of this year increased by 12.47 percent compared to the same period of 2023.
Germany took first place among the countries that sent the largest number of visitors to Turkey in the first five months of this year – an increase of 16.20 percent (1,122,930 visitors). This is followed by Russia – 1 078 294 Visitors. Iran is in third place with a growth of 51.78 percent and 946,437 visitors. The top 5 countries also included Bulgaria and Great Britain.
The number of foreign visitors who arrived in Turkey in May of this year increased by 14 percent compared to the same month of last year – up to 5,130 119 people.
At the same time, Russia is in the first place in the ranking of countries that sent most visitors to Turkey in May. In the period under consideration, 739 017 Russians arrived in the country (height 15.32 percent). This is followed by Germany – 729 505 visitors (height of 18.12 percent) and Great Britain – 505 592 visitors (height 21.64 percent). The top – 5 countries also included Bulgaria and Poland.
