In Foreseeable Future, Kazakhstan Will Refrain From Filing An Application To BRICS – Presidential Adviser

President Kasim-Zhomart Tokaev received proposals for Kazakhstan to join Brix, most likely, in the foreseeable future, Kazakhstan would refrain from filing an application to the association. This was stated by adviser, press secretary of the President of Kazakhstan Berik Wali, answering questions of the news agency Tengrinews.kz.

“Kazakhstan observes with interest the evolution of BRICS, supports the calls of the leaders of the states – the founders of the organization to make every effort to build a fair, democratic world order, free from hegemony,” said Wali.

According to him, the president received proposals for Kazakhstan to join Brix, since the country was recognized as a responsible and authoritative member of the international community.

“These proposals are carefully considered by the head of state and, on his behalf, are analyzed by the relevant departments from the point of view of the national interests of Kazakhstan,” the spokesman said.

“At the same time, at present, and most likely, in the foreseeable future, Kazakhstan will refrain from submitting an application to BRICS, including taking into account the multi -stage process of consideration of membership, as well as other points related to the development of this association” , – he pointed out.

The spokesman also said that the President of Kazakhstan includes participation in the BRICS summit in Kazan, which will be held on October 23-24.

“He plans to perform there on October 24 at an expanded meeting of the organization in the Autharich format, – he said.

Speaking about the priority for Kazakhstan, Uali said that “the president has repeatedly spoke out in favor of the UN as a universal and non -alternative organization, in which all relevant international problems can be discussed, including the construction of a fair world order.”

“According to the President, the UN is not free of shortcomings, but such an organization does not exist, and therefore it needs to support the world community. And the UN Charter should serve as the basis of international law, no one has the right to violate the principles laid down in this fundamental document “, – he said.

The president has already expressed regret about the inability of the UN Security Council to make important and fateful decisions. Therefore, he considers it necessary to proceed with the UN Security Council reform on the basis of wide consultations of the UN member states, taking into account the interests and “medium powers,” the press added Secretary.
