“I express a deep sorrow about the tragedy in Batumi and I bring condolences to family members and relatives of the dead. Together with them, all Georgia mourns this terrible tragedy,” he said.
Garybashvili promised that the state would provide all the necessary assistance to victims. “All persons whose wines will be detected will be punished throughout the severity of the law. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has already delayed three people, and the investigation continues,” the prime minister wrote in the social network.
One entrance of the 5-storey residential building of the 1980s construction completely collapsed in Batumi in the morning of October 8. There were 15 apartments in this part of the house. According to the latest data, six people died, three more people are looking for in the rubble. The reasons for the collapse of the house are not yet known.
