In January This Year, 112 173 Residential Real Estate Objects Were Sold In January

The number of sales of residential real estate in Turkey in January of this year increased by 39.7 percent compared to the same month of 2024 – until 112173. Such data are carried out by the Institute for Statistics of Turkey (Tüi̇k).

According to Tüi̇k, the number of residential real estate sold in January decreased by 47.2 percent compared to December 2024. In December 2024, 212,637 residential real estate objects were sold.

The largest number of residential facilities in January 2025 was sold in Istanbul – 18 912. The following are followed by Ankara – 10,158 residential property and Izmir – 6 634.

The smallest volume of sales of housing is recorded in such provinces: Ardakhan (39 objects), Bayburt (62) and tundra (80).

The volume of sales of residential property to foreigners in Turkey in January of this year decreased by 24.9 percent compared to the same month of last year – up to 1547. In January, 1547 residential facilities were sold in January. The volume of sales of housing to foreigners in January decreased by 24.9 percent in annual calculus.

The share of sales to foreigners in the total sales of residential property in the period under consideration amounted to 1.4 percent. The largest number of residential facilities were sold to citizens of other countries in Istanbul – 611. Further follow the Antalya province – 469 residential facilities and Mersin – 118 residential facilities.

Russian citizens headed the rating of foreign buyers of residential real estate in January. In general, in the period under review, the Russians acquired 248 residential facilities in Turkey. The following are Iran citizens – 162 residential property and Iraq citizens – 103.
