Kazakhstan demonstrates commitment to compliance with the standards of “initiative of transparency of producing industries” (global standard for oil management, gas and mineral resources). This was stated by the President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev at a meeting with the Chairman of the Board of “Initiative of Transparency of Production Industries” (IPDO) Helena Clark.
According to the press service of the Kazakh leader, Tokaev emphasized that from the moment of joining this organization in 2007, Kazakhstan demonstrates the commitment of IPDO standards, and at the legislative level, the obligation of subsoil users to comply with the requirements of the organization and provide tax reports and other payments in The country’s budget.
The President also informed the head of the IPDO about the regulatory measures taken in the field of exploration and production. In particular, a comprehensive plan for the development of the industry has been adopted, a single subsoil use platform has been launched, including an interactive map and more than 50 thousand geological reports. In addition, business processes for obtaining licenses for exploration and production work are simplified.
Meanwhile, Helen Clark shared strategic plans and key priorities for the organization for the coming period. She also praised Kazakhstan to improve the legislation in the field of subsoil use in accordance with the requirements of transparency of the extractive industry.
