The situation with nuclear safety at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant (ZAES) in Ukraine worsens after the drone impact, said the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (Magate) Rafael Grossy.
“We again see the escalation of threats to the nuclear safety that the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant is faced with. I am still extremely concerned and repeat my call for maximum restraint from all sides and to strict adherence to five specific principles established to protect the station,” said Grossy.
In the Magate, it was noted that they had previously informed that explosives, allegedly transferred by a drone, detonated directly behind the protected area of the station. The place of the fall was near the ponds for cooling water and about 100 meters from the Dnieper power line, the only line that ensures the energy supply of the ZAS.
