The Azerbaijan Ministry of Health held a meeting with a working visit in our country by a famous neurosurgeon, director of the pediatric neurosurgery department at the Medical Center of Soroka (Israel) by Dr. Mickey Gideon.
According to the press service of the Ministry, the Minister of Health Teymur Musaev emphasized that Azerbaijani-Israeli cooperation in the field of health and medical science, as in all areas of cooperation between the two countries, is exemplary: “Israel is a country with a high level of education and a country and a country Healthcare systems. We are satisfied with the interaction of our countries in high-tech areas of healthcare: virology, microbiology, in other areas of healthcare. In addition, Azerbaijani Medical University actively collaborates with the Ben-Gurion University and the Medical Center “Soroka”.
Teimur Musaev also noted that during his career, Dr. Gideon conducted a number of unique operations, some of which are innovative in the field of neurosurgery. “At the same time, you devote time to social activities, which cannot but rejoice. So, in October 2021, at the invitation of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, you visited Baku. As part of the visit, you came to students of Azerbaijani Medical University, and also met with local neurosurgeons and conducted it Charity consultation in one of the local clinics. “

Having expressed gratitude for the warm welcome, Dr. Mickey Gideon noted that he was very glad to be in Baku again. He emphasized that the medical center he represented is interested in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan. It was brought to attention that the Medical Center “Magpie” is one of the largest medical and diagnostic centers in Israel. Modern equipment of the hospital allows you to diagnose diseases at the earliest stages, which, in turn, contributes to a more accurate and effective therapy used.
At the end, Dr. Gideon expressed his readiness to provide any feasible assistance to ensure an interdisciplinary approach to pediatrics, as well as in other areas of healthcare.
During the meeting, the issues of strengthening the partnership in the field of pediatrics, the creation of modern children’s intensive care units in Azerbaijan, and scholarship programs for Azerbaijani doctors in Israel were discussed. In addition, the parties discussed the creation in the future of the educational and symptucting center in the regions of Azerbaijan, the establishment and development of cooperation between the research pediatric institution of the Ministry of Health and the Medical Center “Soroka”, the development of a continuing education system in the field of pediatrics and the prospects for digitalization in healthcare.
