Moldovan citizens will receive notifications of emergency situations and disasters directly to their mobile phones thanks to the introduction of the National System of Enlightenment of the population.
According to Moldipers, the system will be introduced within the framework of a project financed by the World Bank, the total cost of which is $ 40 million.
5 million dollars were allocated for the development of a mobile notification system. This will instantly notify the population about emergency situations, reducing material losses and saving life.
about $ 22.5 million will be aimed at the purchase of emergency response and special equipment for the General of Emergency Situations Inspector (GICHS), including search and rescue containers.
more than $ 6 million is provided for the modernization of hydrometeorological services by updating monitoring and forecasting weather systems in the state hydrometeorological service.
about 1.5 million dollars will go to finance the programs for the preparation of society for emergency situations.
The project includes an assessment of natural dangers and climatic risks, as well as the allocation of $ 2 million for technical and economic justifications of seismic risk and the development of national seismic risk cards and the risk of natural disasters for public buildings and residential buildings.
A loan for a period of 30 years with a grace period of five years will be repaid twice a year. The parliament has to ratify the credit agreement, and the project will be implemented within five years.
