In Morocco, They Announced Plan For Combating Flash Of Measles

The Morocco Ministry of Health announced a plan that includes comprehensive measures to prevent the spread of measles that claimed the lives of 120 people.

According to the Chancellery of Prime Minister Morocco, the Government Council held a meeting in Rabat in connection with a flash of measles in the country.

According to the latest data from the Morocco Ministry of Health, since September 2023, 25 thousand cases of measles were recorded in the country, 120 of which ended death.

Speaking at a meeting, the Minister of Health Emin Technology said that the department has submitted a plan that includes various measures to prevent the spread of measles, including the expansion and extension of the national vaccination campaign.

The minister noted that thanks to the measures taken by the number of vaccinated at the age of 18, it increased to more than 8 million.

The Ministry of Health strengthened the possibilities of epidemiological monitoring, directed the rapid response groups to the most affected areas, and also provided the necessary medicines and medical supplies for the provision of urgent measles with measles, ”he said.

Earlier, on February 3, complex measures in order to prevent the spread of measles were also taken by the Ministry of Education of Morocco. Among such measures: vaccination in educational institutions, distance learning, and in some cases the closure of schools, where a large number of cases of disease were recorded.
