The Statue of the Third President of the United States Thomas Jefferson was removed from the New York City Hall, reports Skynews.
“Thomas Jefferson was a slave owner. I am extremely unpleasant to realize that we sit in front of a statue that honors a slave owner, who in the soul believed that people like me, in nature, are defective, devoid of intelligence and unworthy of freedom and rights”, – She said a member of the city council of New York Adrienna Adams.
Note that Thomas Jefferson was the third president of the United States. His portrait is depicted on a two-dollar bill and mountain Rushmore. Jefferson is also the author of the US Independence Declaration.
