In Number Of Regions Of Russian Federation, Mining Will Be Prohibited At State Level

In some regions of the Russian Federation, mining will soon be prohibited at the state level. This was stated by the deputy head of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation Evgeny Grabchak on the forum RBC Tech.

Grabchak noted that such initiatives are related to the energy deficit in the regions. “For example, we have already scarce zones with you are the Far East, this is the southwest of Siberia, this is the south. There we cannot give great capacities to anyone in the future until 2030,” said the deputy head of the Ministry of Energy, whose words are given by Russian Media.

Russian President Vladimir Putin in July announced the need for legislative regulation of cryptocurrency mining. On October 25, the President of the Russian Federation signed the law on the regulation of the turnover of digital currency. Innovations come into force on November 1 of the current year.

According to the new rules, the government will be able to prohibit digital currency mining in certain regions and determine the procedure and reasons for the introduction of restrictions. In addition, the new law transfers to the control of the Federal Tax Service (Federal Tax Service) maintaining the register of miners. Earlier, these powers were endowed with the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of Russia (Minzifra).
