In Paris, they believe that Russia should not hope for a victory in Ukraine

Russia should not be hoped for a victory in the war against Ukraine, said French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Drian at a meeting with journalists in Tallinn, reports correspondent.net with reference to CNN channel.

“Russia should not hope for victory. Rates for us strategic,” said the head of the French Foreign Ministry, having encouraged to strengthen military, financial and humanitarian support of the Ukrainian people.

“We have a very clear goal – not to refuse and intensify our efforts to complete cessation of fire throughout Ukraine and real negotiations,” said French diplomat.

At the same time, Le Drian warned against the trust of the promises of the Russian Federation to reduce hostilities. According to him, it is necessary to judge only on specific steps, but “at the moment there are no them.”

The Minister also repeated calls for EU countries to abandon Russian oil and gas. “Although we are not all equally dependent on Russian hydrocarbons, we are equally interested in refusing them,” he added.
