Katyn tragedy is an act of genocide aimed at the systematic destruction of the Polish people. This was stated by Polish President Andrzej Duda, speaking on the occasion of the 83rd anniversary of the Katyn execution.
The head of state called the events in Katyn “one of the tragic pages” in the history of Poland, which claimed the lives of 22 thousand Poles.
Duda noted further, with concern observes what is happening in Ukraine, urging to attract all the perpetrators to the court.
In 2007, Poland announced on April 13 “The Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Katyn”.
