In South Korea, Record For Duration Of Tropical Nights Is Set

In the capital of South Korea, Seoul, a record is set for the number of tropical nights.

According to Yonhap, citing the country’s meteorological service, in Seoul, the air temperature did not fall below 27.2 degrees 27 in a row.

Thus, the temperature in Seoul has become a new record for the history of observations since 1907.

The night is called tropical if the air temperature remained above 25 degrees from 18:00 to 09:00 the next day. In South Korea on August 16, the indicator was equal to the previous record set in 2018.

The alarm was declared in 92 regions of the country, including Seoul, due to strong heat.
