Istanbul (AA) – in South Sudan, 39 people died as a result of clashes between shepherds and farmers due to a dispute about pastures.
The police representative Elijah Mabor Makuach in his press statement said that in the regions of Varrap and Lake clashes between shepherds and farmers due to land dispute.
According to him, 39 and 52 people were injured as a result of clashes.
Having stated that security forces were sent to the region, Makuach noted that the clashes occurred due to the fact that the herds of shepherds invaded agricultural lands.
In South Sudan, clashes between tribes often occur due to the problem of pasture lands.
South Sudan, who proclaimed independence from Sudan in 2011, was plunged into the civil war after December 16, 2013, President Salva Kiir Mayardit, removed from the power of his deputy Reich Machar, accusing him of “attempt by the coup.”
Despite the fact that in 2018 the parties signed the world after a long war, violence between different tribes and groups continues in the country where it is impossible to ensure public order and security.
