Europe threatens the lack of gas upcoming winter. This was stated by the Senior Energy Security Adviser at the US State Department Amos Hochstein, reports Financial Times.
According to him, this is due to the fact that Russia has not put enough fuel to the European market, which in the end led to the increase in prices for the resource. “If a real cold winter comes in January-February, stocks can end. And it bothers me,” said Hochstein.
He noted that Europe begins the new winter period also with the threat of supply reduction.
Earlier it was reported that gas prices in Europe have established a new maximum. Last week in Europe during bidding, the price of gas exceeded $ 710 per thousand cubic meters.
