The Syrian Office for Human Rights reports large -scale arrests conducted by the military counterintelligence of Syria. Sources of the organization declare dozens of detainees on suspicion of “cooperation with hostile entities.”
The arrests were carried out on the basis of information received from the Hezbolla reconnaissance service. Under suspicion were military personnel of various departments: officers and soldiers of the air defense forces and units located in the Syrian Aleppo, Damascus, Tartus and Masiafe. Some of the detainees were released. 27 people are in custody. All of them are considered guilty of “cooperation with Israel and providing it with coordinates”, Israeli media write.
In the work of the Jewish state, Syrian security services also suspect the civilian population. Human rights activists report the arrest on September 7 of at least five residents of residential areas located near the Aleppo Airport. They are suspected of “communication with hostile entities.” The detentions were made the day after the airport bombing.
On Saturday, Israel Hayom publication with reference to the Al-Ahbar newspaper announced the arrest of the Syrian doctor in Beirut on suspicion of espionage in favor of Israel.
