In Turkey Blocked Access To Popular Discord Platform

Turkish authorities decided to block access to the Discord messenger in the country by decision of the First World Court of Ankara. This was reported on the social network by the head of the Ministry of Justice of Turkey Yilmaz Tunch.

According to the head of the department, the capital prosecutor’s office was the initiator of the blocking. The decision was made in connection with the availability of sufficient suspicions of the crimes of the “sexual exploitation of children and obscenity” provided for in Article 8/1 of Law No. 5651 “On the regulation of publications on the Internet and the fight against crimes committed through such publications,” said the Minister. >

Ankara court decided to delete all the publications of the platform and block access to the specified URL addresses from Turkey.

The tunch emphasized the determination of the authorities in protecting youth and children: “We are determined to protect our youth and children who are a guarantee of our future, from criminal and harmful content on social networks and the Internet.
