In the UK, near the seaside town, Scarborough archaeologists found the ruins of the villa and the term of the Roman Empire, reports The Yorkshire Post.
According to experts, this is one of the most “fantastic finds”, which ever met in the country. Previously, nothing like that was found.
Scientists have developed a whole complex of buildings, including the central round of the round form, several halls leading to it, as well as the terms. Archaeologists believe that representatives of the aristocracy could live on this luxury villa. Or she was used for religious rites.
Villas with a planning of this type have never been met in the UK, and, as experts believe, in the entire former Roman Empire, whose borders stretched from England to Western Asia.
“We did not dream to detect something like that. These ruins allow us to be better to imagine what the UK was in the era of the Roman Empire,” the Specialist in the ancient monuments Kate Emerik was commented.
In the publication, it is noted that archaeologists will continue to explore this place. They will try to establish why the mysterious building was built so far from other Roman centers.
