The United States expressed concern in connection with the beginning of the large -scale military teachings of China in the Taiwan Strait area.
As emphasized in the State Department, Beijing’s actions destabilize the situation in the Asia-Pacific region and enhance tension.
“Aggressive military operations and statements by China against Taiwan do not serve any other goal, except for increasing tension and creating a threat to security and prosperity of the region,” follows from the statement.
Washington emphasized that the United States support peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, and also continue to closely coordinate actions with allies and partners in the region.
On Tuesday, April 1, the People’s Liberation Army of China announced the beginning of complex exercises.
According to the Taiwan Ministry of Defense, 76 Chinese military aircraft and 19 ships were involved in military exercises.
China is not for the first time.
Large-scale exercises near Taiwan were already organized in August 2022 after a visit to the island of the ex-speaker of the House of US Representatives Nancy Pelosi, as well as in 2023 after the trip to the United States, the former leader Taiwan Tsay Inven.
In addition, in 2024, after the inauguration of the new head of the Lai Qinde island administration, military exercises were also organized.
