Scientists from the United States announced the evidence of the laboratory origin of the coronavirus. They wrote about it in the Wall Street Journal newspaper.
Dr. Stephen Cochie and Professor of Physicia of the University of California in Berkeley Richard Müller said that Sars-COV-2 has a genetic trail that is not observed in a natural coronavirus.
Specialists found a sequence of genomes in SARS-COV-2 in combination “CGG-CGG”. Scientists often use it to enhance infinity and mortality of viruses. It is a peculiar beacon that allows you to track the insert in the laboratory, the article says.
In this case, it is extremely rare in nature. In natural coronaviruses, SARS or MERS there is no such sequence, Kayu and Muller say.
“In fact, in the whole class of coronaviruses, which includes COV-2, and there was no CGG-CGG combination, which would have arisen naturally. This means that the usual way to acquire new skills in this case does not work” , – Scientists write.
According to them, the virus simply cannot get a sequence if it is missing in another virus.
Thus, supporters of zoonotic origin should explain why COV-2 during mutation and recombination chose the least preferred sequence – double CGG, the article says.
“Why did the virus repeated the combination that researchers would have done in the laboratory? Yes, it could happen by chance. But do you believe it?” – asked experts.
Another proof that the new coronavirus could be created by a person is a sharp difference in the genetic diversity of COV-2 compared to viruses causing SARS and MERS. The last two had natural origins. As they distribute among people, they began to quickly evolve to the most infectious forms.
SARS-COV-2 behaved differently: he appeared in a person already adapted, in the extremely aggressive version. He did not undergo any serious mutations for several months. The first such change was discovered in England. According to Kueya and Muller, this case is unprecedented – it suggests that the new coronavirus passed the long-term adaptation period before spreading among the population. There is only one way to make a virus like this: to simulate its natural evolution and grow a virus on human cells to achieve its maximum efficiency. These are engaged in laboratories, exploring mutations of viruses with acquisition of functions.
