The United States welcome the creation of the EU mission on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was stated by the Deputy Head of the press service of the State Department of the United States Vedante Patel.
“We are inspired by the meeting of the Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Azerbaijan and welcome the actions of the President of France and the head of the European Council to give impulse to a comprehensive peaceful process,” Patel told reporters
The representative of the State Department stated that the United States welcomes progress “on the mission of EU observers in the region. This mission has the potential to strengthen trust between both parties and continues to contribute to negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.”
According to the statement of the European Council, the Civil Mission of the European Union will begin to operate on the border in October and last two months.
