Armenia Foreign Ministry responded to the statement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Chavushoglu that Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed on the basic principles of a peace treaty.
According to the Armenian media, the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of RA Vaan Unayan emphasized that negotiations with Azerbaijan are ongoing, and after the statement made following the results of the meeting in Prague, there is no other development in this matter.
“In the event of a new development, we, as before, properly inform the public,” said Unanyan.
Note that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Chavushoglu in the program of the Turkish television company Tvnet touched the process of resolving relations between Turkey and Armenia and between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He noted that Azerbaijan and Armenia need to sign a peace treaty. According to him, there are problems such as the settlement of borders on the way to this agreement. Chavushoglu added that the foreign ministers of the two countries were given an order, they came to an agreement on five principles, adding that as a result of this, an agreement based on these principles would already need to be implemented.
