India turns into the main procurement of Israeli weapons. According to the Jerusalem Post edition, both countries have agreed to form a working group that will develop a 10-year cooperation plan to identify new areas of defense cooperation.
Over the past few years, Israel supplied India various weapons systems, rockets and unmanned aerial vehicles, which made India one of the largest buyers of the Military Technology of Israel.
In the report of the Stockholm International Institute for Peace Problems in 2020, it was noted that the export of weapons by Israel over the past four years was the highest in history and amounted to three percent of the global volume. The Jewish state turned out to be the eighth largest weapon supplier in the world.
According to the report, India (45% of the total), Azerbaijan (17%) and Vietnam (8.5%) also includes the top three of the largest buyers of Israeli weapons. Weapons sales in India invariably exceed 1 billion dollars a year.
In September, India acquired four Heron MK II at Israel Aerospace Industries in the amount of about $ 200 million in the framework of the country’s modernization plans against the background of continuing border conflicts with China. Indian Air Force is already exploited more than 180 of Israeli production.
