The cause of the railway catastrophe in the East Indian state of Odisha last Friday was a change in the electronic blocking system. This was announced by the Minister of Iron Roads, Communications, Electronics and Information Technologies of the country Ashvini Vaishnav, reports Ani.
“We established the cause of the incident and the persons guilty of it. This happened due to a change in electronic lock,” he said.
Vaishnav did not specify why there were changes in the electronic lock included in the traffic safety system.
“Now we are focused on restoring the movement,” said Vovishnav.
The disaster occurred on Friday evening in the area of the city of Balaor in Odisha. According to various estimates, from 288 to 294 people died.
