India in April 2022 increased oil imports by 14% by the year, but reduced by 10% relative to March 2022, to 20.52 million tons, follows from the Data of the Ministry of Trade of India.
As Interfax-Azerbaijan reports, while in general in four months the country imported 77.23 million tons of oil, which is 36% more than a year earlier.
India in January-April purchased over 275.4 thousand tons of oil from Azerbaijan, including 138.45 thousand tons in April. In general, in April, Azerbaijan took the 17th position in terms of oil supplies to India.
In general, for January-April, India purchased 2.28 million tons of oil from the Russian Federation (an increase of 4.4 times g/g), which is about 3% of the import of this type of raw materials. At the same time, in February, the republic did not buy Russian oil at all, and in January acquired 260.3 thousand tons (1.9 times less than g/g).
Earlier, the media reported that since the start of hostilities in Ukraine, state and private refinery of India has increased the volume of oil procurement in the Russian Federation, since Russian varieties are offered with a significant discount in relation to Brent.
