India temporarily suspended the issuance of visas for Canada citizens.
This was reported on the BLS International Services website, a company that runs Canadian visa centers.
The decision was made against the backdrop of a deterioration in relations between the two countries after the murder of the leader of the Sikh separatist organization “Power of Liberation of Halistan” (KLF) Hardip Singh Nijar.
According to the report, the issuance of visas is suspended since September 21, 2023 and “to further orders.”
The representative of the Indian authorities in an interview with local media confirmed the information. However, I did not comment on this step of New Delhi.
