Children in India, having lost coronavirus infection, began to be more often sick with multisystem inflammatory syndrome. This is reported by TASS with reference to the Times of India newspaper.
“This syndrome is already a year, and we get an increasing number of cases,” the newspaper leads the word of the head of the pediatric office of emergency care and intensive therapy of the Institute of Medical Education in Chandigarch Professor Jayashry.
According to local media, cases of this syndrome in children are marked in the states of Maharashtra, Haryana, Punjab and others, the exact number of ills have not been established, but there are already hundreds of them (only in Chandigarch the numbers differ from 42 to 252 children). Doctors noted with anxiety that while in India there are no official nationwide statistics on this disease and there are no recommendations, how to deal with it.
Specialists indicate that children are generally easier to carry a coronavirus infection, but then they can manifest itself with such syndrome. The disease is usually evolving after four to six weeks after the recovery of a child or a teenager from COVID-19. His symptoms: temperature rise, fever, rash, conjunctivitis, diarrhea and vomiting, low blood pressure. Multisystem inflammatory syndrome can lead to sad consequences. The problem is also in the fact that often doctors confuse him with other children’s diseases.
As Professor of Pulmonology, Ma Singh from Chandigarh, one of the reasons for increasing the incidence of such syndrome was the fact that children move less, less often walk and do not go to school due to restrictions introduced due to coronavirus infection. It is noted that the risk of syndrome in children is experiencing higher.
