On the island of Flores in Indonesia, a volcano Lakobobi Lucky Laki Laki, which led to the death of 9 people, was erupted, the country’s elemental disaster management reported.
The lava flows after the eruption reached the nearby village, where several houses were destroyed, including the local monastery. Among the dead there are one nun. One person is listed as missing.
Since the beginning of last week, the volcano has shown activity, throwing a thick brown ash to a height of 2,000 meters. The authorities increased the level of threat to the region to maximum.
Indonesia, located in the Pacific Ring of Fire Ring, has about 130 active volcanoes, being in the zone of increased seismic activity.
