Head of the National Center for Control of Georgia Diseases Amiran Gamkrelidze believes that against the background of the growth of indicators of infection with coronavirus, citizens of the country are better walking than to ride in transport.
So Gamkrelidze answered the question of a journalist who asked whether the authorities would increase the number of transport units and control the flow of passengers due to the large number of people at the rush hour, writes Georgia online.
Gamkrelidze also asked how generally public transport is dangerous, given the situation.
“Only control and whip do not work. The main thing is our discipline and understanding. Now, is it spring? Let’s walk more on foot. Are you young? You don’t need a bus for two stops. What could be better walking through the streets of Tbilisi,” – Replied epidemiologist.
He also stated that Georgia was on the threshold of the third wave of coronavirus spread, and called for citizens to refrain from social events.
