The leaders of different branches of the Taliban movement are fighting among themselves, seeking to get as much influence as possible in the future of the government of Afghanistan. It is reported by the newspaper Hindustan Times.
According to the publication, one of the main participants of this process is the leaders of the Khakkany movement, which is considered one of the combat-ready “Taliban”, and Mullah Mohammad Yakub – the Son of the founder of the Taliban Mullah Omar.
The faithful Mulle Yakubu strength controls Kandahar, which is considered a stronghold of movement in Afghanistan, and the Hakkani network holds under the control of Kabul.
“There are concerns that two groupings will appear in the formable Taliban of the government: Profganskaya, consisting of people from Kandahar, and Propayistanskaya – from the Hakkani network, – newspaper writes.
In the “Taliban” movement, there are other disagreements, the article says. So, Mulla Yakub believes that those leaders who have been responsible for combat operations must be managed to manage Afghanistan, and not those who dealt with diplomacy. The opposite position adheres to, in particular, the co-founder of Mullah Abdul Gani Baradar.
