The installed capacity of the solar power plants of Turkey at the end of March of the current year reached 10 thousand MW. In general, solar power plants cover 78 Turkish provinces. This was reported by “Anadola” with reference to the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey.
According to the Turkish department, the total installed capacity of the country’s power plants at the end of March 2023 reached 104,348 MW, and the installed capacity of solar power plants – 9 820 MW.
Solar power plants with a capacity of more than 100 MW operate today in 35 Turkish provinces.
The installed capacity of solar power plants in Turkey in 2014 was 40 MW. The share of solar energy in the total installed power of Turkish electricity has reached 9.41 percent.
The largest volume of the installed power of solar power plants in Turkey falls on the province of Konya – 1722.2 MW.
It is believed that Turkey has a high potential of solar energy due to its geographical position.
