The installed capacity of the solar power plants (SES) of Turkey as of May 16 this year exceeded 10 thousand MW. In general, SES act in 78 Turkish provinces.
The TEİAş energy distribution company told Anadolu that the total installed capacity of the country’s power plants on May 16, 2023 reached 104,600 MW in general, of which 10,007 MWs occur at the SES.
If in 2014 the total installed capacity of solar power plants in Turkey was 40 MW, then in recent years this indicator has increased ten times.
Solar power plants with a capacity of more than 100 MW operate today in 35 Turkish provinces.
The head of the Association of Investors in the Güyad Energy Gem Ozkeok, in an interview with Anadolu, noted that the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey announced the national energy plan, according to which the country’s solar energy in bringing capacities up to 52,900 MW by 2035 by 2035 .
“So far, approximately the fifth of this goal has been reached, but we are confidently moving towards this goal,” Ozkeke noted.
