Russia’s international reserves in April increased by $ 7.6 billion compared to the previous month – from $ 590.3 billion to $ 597.9 billion.
As of May 1, the volume of international reserves of Russia increased by 1.3 percent, the press service of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation reports.
International reserves are highly liquid financial assets that are at the disposal of the Bank of Russia and the Government of the Russian Federation.
They consist of assets in foreign currency, monetary gold and other reserve assets.
Western countries froze access to about half the reserves of the Russian Central Bank due to the conflict in Ukraine.
